synopsis.

There are three things Kori knows for sure about her life:

One: Her army general dad is insanely overprotective.

Two: The guy he sent to watch her, Cade, is way too good-looking.

Three: Everything she knew was a lie.

Now there are three things Kori never knew about her life:

One: There’s a device that allows her to jump dimensions.

Two: Cade’s got a lethal secret.

Three: Someone wants her dead.

review.

Infinity by Jus Accardo is a really entertaining and compelling read.

While the book is very much a set-up for the series, there are so many elements that make it a great read on it's own. Accardo's approach to parallel universes - how the characters move between them, how their actions affect these worlds, and how it all came to be is really fascinating. While a complex topic, it was easy to read in the context of the story and there's a great feeling of scope, and just how big the world of this series will be.

The characters are all very interesting. Kori is not your typical female lead - she's equal parts strong and vulnerable. She's combative, constantly challenging authority and what she's been told, and all-round standing up for herself, which is really refreshing. While being honest to a fault can be a drawback for characters, it works in her favour because she's suddenly thrust into a world that is crazy and unbelievable. Cade and Noah are great. As the story unfolds and we learn about their histories, their personalities make a lot of sense, and their complicated relationships with Kori are gripping to read.

While this book is science-fiction, the character relationships and development really form the heart of the story. Not one character is perfect, but they all have their reasons and that is what makes them so compelling. There's action, adventure, heartbreak and loss, and it all feels very real.

I can't wait to see where Accardo takes her characters and story in future books.

I gave Infinity 4 out of 5 stars.
