Easter Pocket Letter

6:30 PM

The lovely ladies on the Brimbles Design Team decided to get together and create some fun Easter happy mail for one of the other people on our team. We used the March Brimbles Box for inspiration and decided to share our processes with all of you in the hopes that you might be inspired to create your own happy mail!

You can check out Anna's master post (for all the links) and read on below!

My pocket letter is for Zinia from Abstract Inspiration!

Confession: I love making pocket letters. I don't really do happy mail or pen pals or pocket letters all that often, but I do love to make them so this was a super fun project and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

For my first pocket I used some of the Brimbles Notepad paper from the box, along with a bunny stamp from an old Studio Calico kit and some stickers from my stash.

I have a huge tag punch and ages ago I punched out a whole lot of scrap paper and laminated them for washi samplers. I tried to pick Easter/spring themed colours from my stash. It's hard to see but the paper behind the tag is the egg and chick paper from the March box.

These cute bunny page flags were in my stash and I added them to a piece of the carrot design paper. I added an Amy Tangerine paperclip to the top to hold in the goodies on the back side of the pocket.

In the second row I created a removable shaker pocket out of an old Project Life page protector and added in some sequins and glitter in matching colours. The butterfly on the outside of the pocket is from the Claudia van R collection and there's also a gold glitter foam thicker behind it, too.

The bunny pocket is using the remaining paper from the notepad used in the first pocket, with some punched paper hearts for balloons and some Studio Calico tiny word stickers. Oh, and a different type of bunny page flags.

This butterfly pocket is just a decorative card. I pulled a few bits of ephemera from my stash to layer up and added some washi and tiny word stickers. You may have noticed that I've added a black border around each paper card - this ended up becoming a reoccurring theme through my letter.

I love this bunny ephemera piece that I got in a Citrus Twist kit and added a few more stickers from my stash for decoration.

Here's another laminated card, this time with coloured Baker's Twine, and another butterfly card.

Confession #2: I love stuffing my pocket letters full of random stuff. It's part of the fun, right?!

In the top row I included some die-cut tabs, some tiny envelopes (and a short letter!) and some patterned notepaper.

In the middle row there's even more page flags (apparently I seem to have accumulated a whole bunch of bunny page flags), my shaker pocket and some puffy plus/cross stickers.

In the bottom row there's some ribbon, some more washi samplers and another set of plus/cross stickers.

Then it's just a case of folding it up...

adding a scrapbooking paper sleeve, doily, twine and a tag! I sprayed my doily with Heidi Swapp Color Shine.

I hope this post inspires you to create your own pocket letter in the future. Don't forget to visit Anna's post for more links!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

    1. Hi Terry - I just used a 6x8 Project Life sleeve and my Fuse tool to fuse the sides together after putting in the glitter. Then I popped the whole envelope into the pocket.

Alternatively, you can pop everything directly into the pocket letter pocket and seal it closed with washi tape.
