Another book I've read this month is Want to Live a Life of Happiness by Chade-Meng Tan.

This book is one of the pocket-size inspirational books brought out by Kikki.K this year. I have six of the books in this collection, and collectively, they are very aesthetically pleasing with the black, gold and white colour combination. Each book deals with positive and inspirational topics to motivate the reader to be their best self as each other shares their own personal experiences and tips.

On her website, Kristina Karlsson says:

"I discovered Meng after reading his book, SEARCH INSIDE YOURSELF, and was so inspired by his incredible story and the wisdom he shares with others that I wanted immediately to find a way to work with him and share his words with our customers.
In this book, Meng shares his advice and experience on how to embrace happiness, how to succeed in what you do and how to do it all with a kind heart. His tips, and his own habits and routines, show how, often, it's the simplest, smallest things that can have the biggest impact on our lives. I hope these ten tips inspire you to welcome more happiness into your everyday by creating small daily habits that will change your life."

As I was reading this book, I found myself noting down various points and quotes and there are so many take-aways from wishing people happiness to noticing joy to mindful breathing and how to make happiness a state of mind.

The format of this book (and others in the series) is really fantastic - they're very small and easy to read. On average, it took me about 20 minutes to read with time to stop and think on the stories and techniques shared by Tan.

There is a short introduction about the author, their morning routine, healthy habits and enjoying the little things before it jumps into the ten points. I think this is one of the best features of the book: the author shares 10 things that will help the reader live a life of happiness. Each point is shared over a double-page spread. Interspersed amongst the points are relevant quotes that reflect on the author's purpose.

The internal pages are just as aesthetically pleasing as the outside. Want to Live a Life of Happiness?  has a yellow and white internal colour scheme and a clean and easy to read font.

If you're looking for something inspiring and easy to read, I do recommend this book. 4 out of 5 stars.

The author also has a TED Talk available: Everyday Compassion at Google.
